Yi Wu Zheng Shan Ye Sheng Bing Cha 04
Brand & Factory : Yunnan Six Famous Tea Mountain Tea Industry Co. Ltd. | Type : Sheng/Raw | Vintage Year : 2004
(rating: 3.9 out of 5)
This tea cake is produced from leaves of wild grown tea plants growing in Yi Wu Zheng Shan. The word "Zheng" means original and only tea leaves harvested from Yi Wu town (only a few sq km in size) can be considered as such. Yi Wu Pu’er is renowned for its unique and complex flavor once it has been properly aged.

Reviews & Ratings
This tea has a natural honey like flavor. It brews up to a light yellow cup with no bitterness. This tea has lost all of the unpleasant aspect of sheng flavor to my taste buds. It is too bad they have no full tea cakes left but only 100g foil packages. It would be worth buying three whole cakes if they get more in stock. I am usually a ripe Puerh drinker but this one could convert me to green Puerh if they were all this sweet.

Très bon thé aux saveurs fortes mais rondes. Frais et agréable.

very good slight bitterness but nice. Has a little rasberry and some sage eccence good for the holidays with all the turkey and stuffing. also will go good with the pies.

Big leaves, not too tightly compressed. Fragrant. Pleasant taste.

This tea is strong. Still has a bit of a bite, but seems like it has a promising future if kept.

This tea has a very strong taste. It is obviously ageing and has a brown-gold liquor already, but still has a somewhat harsh edge to it, as a result its not a comfortable drink at the moment. It also has a slight smokey taste to it, which has obvioulsy eased over the last few years. However, despite these points I think this tea has a great future. Its sheer strength will I think cause it to age into something really lovely. Its not a tea for the weak at heart. If you want something with a bit of bite its worth trying.

Smells nice but tastes a bit of "industry" and a little "oily"; not bad really, but not great.
